Substitute Employment Information

 Thank you for your interest in the Cody Public Schools.  We frequently have positions available for Substitute Teachers, Para Professionals, Custodial, Clerical, and Cafeteria Staff.  As a substitute, you are a vital part of Cody’s educational system.  We appreciate your interest and enthusiasm in the success of the Cody Public Schools and extend our thanks and best wishes as you join our staff.

Our online application system (AppliTrack) allows applicants to submit and update application information electronically from any device with internet access. Interested individuals are encouraged to complete an application online. Completing the substitute application does not guarantee a substitute employee position. In addition, substitute teachers may be terminated from service at any time. 

 

Step 1 - Application Proces                                                                                    

  • Click the above red link to fill out an application online.  Paper applications are no longer accepted.   

 

  • If you hold a valid Wyoming Substitute Teaching License it must be uploaded with your application.  If you are applying for a Substitute Teaching position and need to obtain a Wyoming Teaching Certificate Click Here.  All certificate information must be completed by the applicant prior to access for substuting in the classroom.

  • If you do not hold a valid Wyoming Substitute License and are not applying for a teaching position you will need to visit the District Office and pick up a fingerprint background check packet.  Packets must be completed at the local police department and returned with a Cashier's Check or Money Order made out to "The Office of the Attorney General" for $39.00.

STEP 2  - Hiring Process       

After applying online, two times per month the Human Resource Office will gather required information from applicant's application. If applicant meets all licensed requirements, and background check the Human Resource office 
will email the applicant electronic paperwork to the applicant via email. 
 
 
After the electronic paperwork is complete, the applicant must bring two forms of ID to the district office.
Which would include:
        
  • A valid Passport OR two (2) pieces of Federal or State issued identification (such as a current driver's license, social security card, birth certificate, military ID, etc.)

Basic Functions of the Position
Substitute teachers are responsible for ensuring that student learning and school experiences remain uninterrupted in the absence of the teacher or other staff member. By accepting a substitute assignment in one of our schools, substitutes are expected to effectively manage student behavior and academic instruction. We also encourage all substitute employees to cultivate and maintain professional relationships with current employees.

$100.00/Day 60 or more credit hours from an accredited university, valid Wyoming Substitute Licens
$50.00/Half Day 60 or more credit hours from an accredited university, valid Wyoming Substitute Licens
Para Educator/SPED Para Educator $12.50/Hr Accredited high school diploma or equivalent 
Severe Needs Para Educator $13.00/Hr Accredited high school diploma or equivalent 
Media Para Educator $15.00/Hr Accredited high school diploma or equivalent 
Secretary $13.00/Hr Accredited high school diploma or equivalent 

 

Nurse

$100.00/Day Degree from an accredited university & license
$50.00/Half Day Degree from an accredited university & license
Bus Drivers $15.00/Hr Accredited high school diploma or equivalent 
Food Services $12.00/Hr Accredited high school diploma or equivalent 
Custodians $13.50/Hr Accredited high school diploma or equivalent 

Retirees: Park County School Dist. 6 welcomes the expertise and experience of retired educators. Retirees from PCSD 6 who wish to substitute teach must complete an online application. Please contact the Business Office at 307/587-4283 for guidelines within your particular retirement plan to avoid possibly jeopardizing your benefits.

 

ABSENCE MANAGEMENT

Our District uses the Absence Management (AESOP) to administer employee absences and substitute employee assignments. With it, campus employees create assignments, and substitute employees search and accept available positions based on their personal settings. AESOP may be accessed via phone or online seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
